Biography



Matthew Schreiber

Born 1967, Cleveland, Ohio

Schreiber has an undergraduate degree in Fine Art Painting from the University of Florida in 1989 where he also began his study of holography and physics. He went to complete his MFA in Art and Technology and Experimental Film from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a specialization in Holography from the Royal College of Art, London in 1994. 

Schreiberʼs work has been the subject of solo exhibitions including Orders of Light, The Boca Raton Museum of Art, Crossbow at the Johnson Muse­um of Art, Cornell University; Side Show at Johannes Vogt Gallery, NYC; Guil­loche at Fireplace Project in East Hampton, NY; and Swiss Hall Basel, Switzerland.

Group exhibitions include Dark Mofo, MONA, Hobart Tasmania; The Jeweled Net: Views on Contemporary Holography at the MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA; Crystalline Lattice, curated by Yongwoo Lee in Gwangju, South Korea; Mi­ami Noir at Invisible Exports in New York, NY; Shadows, Disappearances, and Illusions at the Perez Art Museum Miami; and Group Show at Galerie Almine Rech in Paris, France.
